A BETTER EXPLANATION
I find it almost incomprehensible that someone might see the title to this page a think 'oh good, he's actually going to explain what's going on'. I'll give it a go however. I want to share things online but on social media it's difficult. There's pressure to add co-workers, family, old acquaintances until your online persona becomes more professional than personal. Just try this facebook game and you'll see what I mean.
If you ever plan on leaving facebook please make sure you play the birthday game. There's a good chance you haven't heard of this game as I made it up but it goes like this. For one whole year, every time it's a Facebook friends birthday you either wish them a happy birthday on their wall or unfriend them. The day you reach a friend with whom you can’t do either is when you delete your account. I only made it two weeks. Good luck completing a year without looking like a complete psychopath.
UK lockdown was getting to me so I thought I would write about my days abroad, in part because my memory is so bad I was worried I would forget it. After a month of unsuccessfully typing down a single word, I had an idea. Why don't I write about whatever it is distracting me, I mean nobody will ever read it anyway. 'Like most idiots' were the first 3 words that fell onto the page. If social media is where people put out the best versions of themselves LMI is the antithesis of that. Well, almost. I certainly don't use words like antithesis in conversation but if theirs a poo story to be told I'm telling it.
If you have a funny story that needs telling but has no place on your social media send me an email and I'll try to write it up.
Cheers X
